Make-up.

You know those girls that wear a ton of make up where it doesn't even look like themselves? WHY? They are only hurting themselves, then they get all upset because they are "ugly" with out make up. I haven't worn make up for 19 years of my life and I don't intend on starting any time soon. When I do wear make up on special occasions it's somewhat of a big deal, but I don't necessarily like it. I get home and look in the mirror and I feel fake. I feel like I'm impersonating someone or something. It's just weird. Make up just isn't me. Sure it's good for the day, but what if you don't have time to put it on one morning and you go out in public. People change their mind about you because you look like death on a stick. I don't wear make up because I am too lazy to put it on in the morning, and if were to ever start wearing it I wouldn't want to stop because I would think I don't look good with out it. That's crazy! Why would I want to do something to make me look different, just so I can hate the way I look with out it. I totally understand that people like to wear make up, I have no problem with it. I'm just saying, if you put your self in the position don't go around asking for compliments when you don't have make up on. It probably won't happen. I rather the natural look over the barbie doll look.
We, as girls, are changing the perception of how we are viewed. We are changing the standards we have to uphold for all the guys around. Every guy is out there looking for a pretty girl to wrap his arm around. They all seem to want the same type of girl, one with pounds of make up. If every girl were to lighten up on the make up, maybe the men would lower there standards and not be so shocked when they wake up the next morning with a woman next to them looking like death with out make up on.
One thing I do like is to do my nails. I would so rather do my nails than to waste time putting on make up. Nails stay painted for a couple days until they start to chip, then I have to put on another color. But I enjoy doing that. If I ever do decide to not do my nails for a week, nobody would even notice probably because not everyone paints their nails.
All I'm saying is, make up isn't everything. If you set yourself up to think it is everything then everyone around you will also think the same. Then out of nowhere you don't even have a personality to them, you are just a hot girl they'd like to get with. Why take make up to the excess? So you can look like a model for a day, but really when you take off your make up you are left with nothing..?
Who knows.
