Make-up.

You know those girls that wear a ton of make up where it doesn't even look like themselves? WHY? They are only hurting themselves, then they get all upset because they are "ugly" with out make up. I haven't worn make up for 19 years of my life and I don't intend on starting any time soon. When I do wear make up on special occasions it's somewhat of a big deal, but I don't necessarily like it. I get home and look in the mirror and I feel fake. I feel like I'm impersonating someone or something. It's just weird. Make up just isn't me. Sure it's good for the day, but what if you don't have time to put it on one morning and you go out in public. People change their mind about you because you look like death on a stick. I don't wear make up because I am too lazy to put it on in the morning, and if were to ever start wearing it I wouldn't want to stop because I would think I don't look good with out it. That's crazy! Why would I want to do something to make me look different, just so I can hate the way I look with out it. I totally understand that people like to wear make up, I have no problem with it. I'm just saying, if you put your self in the position don't go around asking for compliments when you don't have make up on. It probably won't happen. I rather the natural look over the barbie doll look.
We, as girls, are changing the perception of how we are viewed. We are changing the standards we have to uphold for all the guys around. Every guy is out there looking for a pretty girl to wrap his arm around. They all seem to want the same type of girl, one with pounds of make up. If every girl were to lighten up on the make up, maybe the men would lower there standards and not be so shocked when they wake up the next morning with a woman next to them looking like death with out make up on.
One thing I do like is to do my nails. I would so rather do my nails than to waste time putting on make up. Nails stay painted for a couple days until they start to chip, then I have to put on another color. But I enjoy doing that. If I ever do decide to not do my nails for a week, nobody would even notice probably because not everyone paints their nails.
All I'm saying is, make up isn't everything. If you set yourself up to think it is everything then everyone around you will also think the same. Then out of nowhere you don't even have a personality to them, you are just a hot girl they'd like to get with. Why take make up to the excess? So you can look like a model for a day, but really when you take off your make up you are left with nothing..?
Who knows.

Don't waste your time reading this..

I always don't know what to blog about. It takes almost as much time to type out the post as it takes me to figure out what I am going to type about. But today, I only have about 20 minutes to do all of it so here it goes.
I generally ask my friends what I should blog about, yesterday I asked my friend what I should blog about and she said "how about you blog about bringing me lunch today." I did not want to bring her lunch, but in the end I actually did end up bringing her lunch. When I went to go take her lunch I completely forgot about the blog, and that is why I am doing it to day.
I just finished taking a Chemistry test, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I actually barely studied it seemed like because I hung out with my friends a lot this week when I probably should have been working on school work. I'm just so ready to give up on school for the year that I don't ever want to do any work! Like Monday, I told myself I was going to get a lot of my school work done so later in the week I can just relax, but I ended up going to my friend softball game. At the softball game the coach asked for volunteers to run the score board and keep statistics on the players. I thought it would be fun to sit in the box above home plate, so I volunteered me and my friend Anna. We thought someone would come up and teach us how to work everything before the game started, but no. We had to figure everything out ourselves. The coaches started bringing us their batting line up and we just went with what we thought we were supposed to do. Halfway though the game we finally realized that we were keeping the statistics allllll wrong. But no biggy. We had fun. Then last night I went out with friends instead of studying for my history quiz or my chemistry test. Pretty sure I bombed that history quiz, but it's whatever.
Once I knock this blog post out I am going to hang out with some friends. It's either that or do some more lame school work. Whatever. I'm just ready for summer. This cold weather needs to be gone soon.
So I try to teach myself Spanish through this app called DuoLingo. I really think it does help a little. It has a reminder on the app to tell you to study your Spanish, or whatever language a person is trying to learn. It's actually not that bad but if you get off track and don't do it for like 3 days it can really bring you down and I get behind a little. Anyway, I am probably going to do some duolingo stuff before my friend gets out of school. Bye.

What's up with these finals?

Recently I found out that I happen to have three finals all on the same day and no other finals through out the week. I'd like to get them all done in one day but that would be a lot of studying for all different courses. I might consider changing one to another day but right now I can't make up my mind. I just wish if we had an A in the class and were happy with our grade that we wouldn't even have to take finals.
Last semester I had an A in Calculus (screw calculus) then when I went to take the final, my professor pulled random questions out of his nowhere and I got a C on the final, bringing my whole grade down to a B in the class. Talk about messed up. If I understood the material at some point through out the semester when it was taught then that proves I understood it. Don't try testing my memory. We have computers these days to do all of that. I got the basics of calculus down that's all that matters.
Anyway, I think the finals should be spread out a lot more over a course of like two weeks. Especially the comprehensive ones. A lot of my teachers this semester aren't forcing the class to take a comprehensive because of all the snow days we had earlier in the year, instead we are just taking chapter tests and what not. Which is kind of easier compared to the amount of information we have to cram in before the test. Thank goodness we don't have a English "final."
At this time, being so close to summer, I really don't like school. All I want to do is go out and hang out with my friends instead of studying for a test or doing homework. Which sucks because then I get behind in all of my school work and I start stressing out because I have so many things do all at the end of the semester. It's a stressful week right before summer because of all of the school work that is due. Then when I am finally done with all of my classes, I walk out of the building feeling like I don't have to stress anymore, but then also I feel like I have to be doing something when I really don't. Know what I mean? Lets just get rid of finals all together, make everyone happy. The students so they don't have to stress, the professors so they don't have to grade, or even come to class, and the restaurants because all the students get so stressed they just go and eat their misery away.
I mean to me it sounds like a great idea, I know it will never happen but it's always something to think about.
I wonder if I should change one of my finals to a different day, or just tough it out for that one day of miserable finals..?

More than your average high school education.

Did your parents attend college? I have one parent that went to college for two years and another that didn't go to college at all. For those that didn't attend college, high school should be more supportive of a alternative career path. It would be great to have a high school that offered programs getting students ready for their career. 65.9% of high school students don't attend college. That's at least 30% of people that don't attend college. That means the other 30% needs to be given help to reach their career goals. Many kids get out of high school because they have their diploma and they go to work at a fast food restaurant. Why not get training for a nurse while a person is in high school? College can be expensive, society needs to try to help the poor instead of keeping them stuck in a rut. "A third of the nation's 25- to 29-year-olds have earned at least a bachelors degree." Whats the other 67% doing? What if all the high schools offered a Criminal Justice Program, Nursing Assistant Program, and a Pharmacy Technician Program? At least then maybe we would have a couple more people out of poverty. I know it isn't the best pay but it sure is more than minimum wage at a restaurant. To make a lot of the schools around the US have Career and Technical Programs it will cost 1.1 billion dollars. In the end, when a lot of people have better jobs, it will pay itself back. A lot of people are basically forced to go to high school and it really isn't that bad. In Missouri you can't drop out until a certain age, but when you reach that age, you only have about a year or two to go until you obtain your high school diploma. It's almost dumb to not finish it up just because you don't want to. So why not have a program that gets you more prepared for the future and careers? Career programs in high school would only be beneficial to society and the economy as a whole. More jobs means more money, and more money means more spending.
I would have loved to have had a good program to get into my last year of high school to at least get some exposure to the career I might want to go into. It also would have been nice to get a certification during high school so that I could at least earn some money in my field of study while I save up money to even go to college. Also, it would have been nice because I would have had a head start on learning and getting experience in the field. Even if the school offered internships it would help students get a good idea of what the career would be like so that the student fully understands what they are getting themselves into. After an internship, the student may even decide that path isn't for them and decide to choose another one.
Either way, it would only be beneficial to schools and society if many high schools in the US offered programs proceeding toward the field they would like to go into.
